Julia Roberts just went from Chopard ambassador to Chopard co-designer—and the result is a high jewelry capsule built around one of the world’s rarest emeralds.
The new collection, Chopard x Julia Roberts, features the first gems cut from the legendary 6,225-carat “Insofu Emerald”, discovered in Zambia and named for its elephant-trunk-like size.
Working alongside Chopard’s artistic director Caroline Scheufele, Roberts infused the designs with vibrant contrast: deep green emeralds paired with rubellites and turquoise, a gem she personally cherishes. The results are a striking blend of Indian-inspired color and modern goldsmithing lines.
Each piece is made with Fairmined-certified rose gold, reflecting the brand’s sustainability mission—a value Roberts shares deeply.
“It was such an exciting challenge,” said Roberts. “We created jewelry that’s beautiful, sustainable, and meaningful.”
The collaboration debuted March 8 at a private dinner at Château Marmont, where Roberts wore the pieces for the first time, surrounded by jazz, florals, haute couture, and high carats.
