Tiffany & Co. has once again lifted one of its most legendary creations into the spotlight. The Bird on a Rock—first imagined by Jean Schlumberger in 1965 as a playful bird balanced on an oversized gemstone—has been reborn for 2025 with a dazzling new collection that merges fine and high jewellery.

Captured through the surreal lens of photographer Carlijn Jacobs and styled by Katie Burnett, the campaign places icons like Zhang Ziyi and Abby Champion in dreamlike skies, where luminous jewels hover between fantasy and heritage. The mood is ethereal, yet grounded in Tiffany’s signature craftsmanship.
From Brooch to Global Icon

The fine line explores two narratives: figurative birds in platinum and gold with gemstone plumage, and abstract “Wings” designs that echo the layered shimmer of feathers in motion. Each jewel captures a moment mid-flight, alive with movement.
Meanwhile, the high jewellery suites celebrate Tiffany’s gemstone heritage. One universe glows with tanzanite, the other shimmers with turquoise, both crafted with the precision and intensity that define the house’s artistry. The effect is like entering miniature gemstone worlds, each guarded by its avian sentinel.

The magic of Bird on a Rock has always been its tension between whimsy and gravitas. Schlumberger’s sketch of a rare bird became an emblem that has endured across decades without losing its sparkle.
Now, Tiffany propels the icon beyond its roots. No longer just a brooch, the bird has evolved into a cultural emblem—one that continues to soar from the 1960s into the present day.
Expect to see it everywhere this season: perched, in flight, and constantly reshaping the language of modern jewellery.
