Melee the Show returns to New York this August at the riverfront Chelsea Piers, a fitting location for three standout designers whose creations are shaped by rivers—from Scotland’s Highlands to California’s gold country.
✨ Ellis Mhairi Cameron
Crafts unique bands from rare Scottish gold, each piece handcrafted from flakes gathered slowly and patiently from Highland rivers. Her work embraces imperfection and echoes Scotland’s ancient, rugged landscapes.
✨ Shaya Durbin
Sources river agate from Wyoming and Montana, transforming them into earthy one-of-a-kind pieces. Her love for local gemstones and sustainability reflects her California roots. “Where a gem is from links you to a place. It’s very romantic,” she says.
✨ Rebecca Overmann
Uses 24k gold hand-mined from California’s American River. Her minimal rings evolve with the wearer, their soft texture honoring the gold’s watery origins. Based in Northern California, she works with artisanal panners and lets the material speak for itself.
These designers embody sustainability, history, and craftsmanship—reminding us that nature is the ultimate jeweler. 🌊💎
