Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco’s Diamond Wedding Jewelry Sparks Buzz

· Jewelry Trends

Santa Barbara just witnessed one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings of the year—Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco tied the knot, and their choice of diamond wedding jewelry is already stirring conversations across the jewelry world.

One of the rings Selena Gomez wore on her wedding day was the “Sixteen Stone” ring by Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. with 1.14 carats of round brilliant-cut diamonds set in platinum.

Selena’s custom Ralph Lauren gown was paired with Tiffany & Co. diamond earrings weighing over 12 carats, alongside her marquise-cut Tiffany engagement ring and a bold Schlumberger “Sixteen Stone” platinum ring. But it was her diamond eternity band—with east-west set moval-cut stones—that drew attention from designers, many calling it a fresh spin on the classic. This raises the question: are celebrity wedding jewelry trends moving toward stackable, personal styles that blur the line between tradition and individuality?

At left is Benny Blanco’s custom Jacob & Co. wedding band with a 0.03-carat ruby and a 0.03-carat aquamarine set in 18-karat yellow gold and, at right, is his 18-karat-white gold, one-of-a-kind Jacob & Co. diamond boutique watch with more than 22 carats of Ashoka-cut diamonds.

Benny Blanco wasn’t outshined. His Jacob & Co. diamond watch, featuring more than 22 carats of Ashoka-cut diamonds, paired with a diamond tennis bracelet, redefined what men’s jewelry can be—luxurious yet deeply personal. His wedding band, simple outside but engraved inside with ruby and aquamarine birthstones, pushed the narrative further: men’s wedding jewelry doesn’t have to follow rules.

The controversy? Some applaud this new era of jewelry storytelling, while others say it’s over-the-top excess. But whether you see it as opulence or artistry, the symbolism is undeniable: modern couples—especially celebrities—are rewriting the rules of diamonds, embracing pieces that are both timeless and highly personal.

With guests like Taylor Swift (sporting her own vintage-inspired engagement ring) and a star-studded guest list, this wedding might mark a turning point in how diamond jewelry at weddings will be styled, worn, and talked about for years to come.
