
Jonathan Waecker will join Michael Hill as CEO, succeeding interim chief Andrew Lowe.
Waecker brings senior leadership experience to his new role, the company said Monday. He has international expertise in retail, brand, digital, customer experience, and transformation, and held previous positions at firms such as The Walt Disney company, Yahoo! and The Warehouse group. Waecker has led transformational growth in large organizations and lately, his work has centered on supporting retailers generate value through technology, data and media collaboration.

We are confident in his ability to guide the Michael Hill business forward building on our brand heritage and Sir Michael Hill’s fabulous legacy.”
The jeweler appointed Andrew Lowe as interim CEO after the sudden death of former chief Daniel Bracken in February. He has notified the company of his resignation. However, he will resume his role as chief financial and supply chain officer for another six months, while guiding Waecker through the transition.
Waecker will be based in Brisbane, Australia and begin his new role on August 27.
