Jewelers of America (JA) and the Black in Jewelry Coalition (BIJC) have officially named the four recipients of their 2024 Emerging Jeweler Accelerator Program (EJAP). These rising talents are set to make waves in the jewelry world with their unique visions and designs—so, who are they?
Introducing the Future of Jewelry Design
After a year of intense learning and interactive workshops, four talented jewelers have successfully completed the EJAP, earning grants to grow their businesses. This year's recipients are:
- Patricia Carruth of Your Personal Jeweler, Royal Oak, Michigan
- Cloyette Harris-Stoute of Twin Elegance Jewelry, St. Albans, New York
- Soojin Kim of Suu Atelier, Los Angeles, California
- Ashley Perryman of Jewelry Lady, Indianapolis, Indiana
JA CEO David Bonaparte expressed his excitement: "The inaugural Emerging Jewelers Accelerator Program was a huge success. The participants were fully engaged, creating a positive environment that led to real business impact."
What's Next for These Rising Stars?
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! BIJC and JA have already announced the next edition of EJAP, starting early next year, where six more jewelers will compete for top honors. The eight-month program will culminate in a showcase project, with one standout winner walking away with a $10,000 grant, while the other participants will receive $4,000 each.
“We’re thrilled to see the growth and success of this initiative,” said BIJC president Malyia McNaughton. “Starting and sustaining a jewelry business is tough, and we aim to help these emerging jewelers turn their dreams into reality.”
