Designer Juliana Krys is proof that you can take the girl out of the Midwest—but you’ll never take the Midwest out of the girl. 🧢💎
Before she was designing diamond-studded evil eyes and chic gold chains, Krys was growing up between Bloomfield Hills and Metamora, Michigan, tagging along with her dad to the hardware store and soaking in the textures, the metal, the raw grit that would one day inspire her signature look.
“Jewelry shouldn’t be intimidating—it’s meant to be worn,” she says.
“Everything I design is selfish—I wanted pieces I’d wear. Something cool. Something a rock star mom would throw on.”
🎓 Her Art-Soaked Journey
Krys studied art history at the University of Michigan, then jet-set to Paris and Madrid for immersive studies before completing her master’s at Sotheby’s Institute in London. She fell hard for contemporary art—and eventually for her first husband, Aspen journalist David Lipschultz.
The couple created a TV show and moved to LA. But just six months later, tragedy struck: Lipschultz died in a skiing accident. 💔
Krys spent years between LA and Aspen, navigating grief and rediscovery before finding love again. She and husband Alex now live in Miami with their blended family—and it’s here that her jewelry story truly begins.
💫 When Symbols Become Statements
Drawn to sacred shapes and emotional protection, Krys started experimenting with designs in 2017. Her go-to? The evil eye, now a signature motif in Juliana Krys Jewelry, launched in 2024.
One standout? This $9,595 ring with diamonds and sapphires—glam, bold, and deeply protective. 🧿
🔗 The “Baller” Collection: Midwest Muscle Meets Art World Glam
Her favorite line? The Baller Collection, inspired by those industrial ball chains she first saw at the hardware store as a kid. It’s tough but elegant, like her.
“I might live in a tee and jeans,” she says,
“but I go to galas too. I wanted jewelry that fits both worlds.”
TL;DR:
Juliana Krys is blending grit, glam, and personal history into powerful, wearable art. From Aspen to Miami, from grief to growth—her jewelry isn’t just about sparkle. It’s about story. 🌟✨
