Pedro Martinez, the owner of Three J Jewelers in Spring Hill, Florida, faces 21 drug-related charges for allegedly selling cocaine out of his jewelry store, according to a report from Fox 13 Tampa Bay.
Shocking Allegations and Evidence
The Hernando County Sheriff’s Department claims undercover agents purchased cocaine from Martinez’s store on four occasions. After executing a search warrant, authorities reportedly discovered both cocaine and crack cocaine on the premises.
Sheriff Al Nienhuis commented, “It’s hard to judge how many people were coming in here legitimately to sell their gold jewelry versus those involved in criminal activity.”
Jewelry Store Under Scrutiny
Beyond the drug allegations, investigators are also examining the store’s jewelry operations. Sheriff’s deputies have highlighted concerns over whether the business adhered to regulations regarding the purchase and sale of secondhand gold. Despite Martinez’s arrest, the store reportedly continued its operations.
A Breakdown of Charges
Martinez faces multiple accusations, including:
- One count of trafficking in cocaine.
- Four counts each of:
- Sale of cocaine.
- Possession of a structure with intent to sell controlled substances.
- Possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
- Unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
