The International Gemological Institute (IGI) has named Anoop Vrajlal Mehta as its new Chairman and Independent Director, effective June 6, 2025. 🪙
With more than 50 years of experience, Mehta is a titan in the gem and jewelry world. As head of Mohit Diamonds Pvt. Ltd. and President of the Bharat Diamond Bourse, he helped shape India’s diamond export power and influence.
🌍 IGI’s global CEO Tehmasp Printer praised the appointment, calling Mehta’s insights “invaluable.” This leadership move reflects IGI’s drive to boost transparency, excellence, and future-ready practices in gem certification.
Mehta, a multiple Lifetime Achievement Award winner, was instrumental in founding the Bharat Diamond Bourse, now one of the world’s top diamond trading centers.
