Angola is pushing its diamond industry to new global heights. 🌐 At the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB) event in New York, representatives from Angola’s Ministry of Mineral Resources, Petroleum and Gas (Mirempet) forged key partnerships with major players in the diamond world.
✨ Among the major announcements:
- Angola plans to join the National Diamond Council (NDC), Angola Diamond Exchange, and the WFDB.
- A meeting with Tiffany & Co. explored a potential deal for the luxury brand to buy diamonds directly from Angola.
- A memorandum of understanding was signed with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), setting the stage for future collaboration in diamond grading, gemological education, and transparency initiatives.
Minister Diamantino Azevedo also had a high-level discussion with Rapaport Group Chairman Martin Rapaport, focusing on how to ethically and competitively position Angolan diamonds on the world stage.
