    Hiba Husayni is the founder of ZAHN-Z, a fine jewelry brand she launched in 2021 after a courageous journey from Syria to the United States. Originally trained as an architect in Homs, she left her home country at 22 amidst political unrest to pursue her passion for jewelry. The name ZAHN-Z, meaning “beautify an existing beauty” in Arabic, honors her family: the initials represent her sisters Zenia and Aya, herself (Hiba), and her mother Naomi. Each piece is a tribute to her roots and her family’s legacy in engineering, architecture, and medicine.

  • Husayni’s architectural background deeply informs her design approach. She creates jewelry that is structurally sophisticated, elegant, and meticulously detailed, often drawing inspiration from nature and geometric forms. Her work emphasizes proportion, scale, and narrative depth, transforming traditional architectural principles into wearable art. She believes jewelry should resonate personally, helping wearers connect to their own stories and the deeper meaning behind each piece.

    With training from the Azza Fahmy Design Studio in Egypt and the New York Jewelry Design Institute, Husayni specializes in CAD/CAM technology and precision design. She values measurements as precise as 0.1mm and oversees every stage of production—from wax modeling and casting to polishing and setting. Her experience working with major retailers and as a CAD manager gave her a holistic understanding of the jewelry-making process, ensuring each ZAHN-Z piece is both aesthetically refined and sustainably crafted.
