Why Jewelry Mount Suppliers Are Thriving in Today’s Market

broken image

Jewelry mount manufacturers are seizing new opportunities as demand rises for mounts designed for fancy-cut diamonds and lighter gold alternatives, catering to shifting consumer preferences.

Despite a slowing global economy in 2024, mount suppliers are adapting to buyer trends to maintain steady business. Rising gold prices and economic uncertainties are creating both challenges and opportunities, with unique designs and product quality becoming critical for growth.

Fancy-Cut Diamond Mounts Lead the Way

Turkey-based Sina Mounting & Jewellery produces a wide range of mounts, supplying markets in Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Fancy-cut diamonds such as marquise, pear, emerald, and rectangular shapes are particularly popular in countries like China, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

"Customers love our premium designs for necklaces featuring fancy cuts," says Export Manager Mehmet Faruk Gürel. Sina is also responding to growing demand for lighter gold mounts (14K, 10K, or 9K), moving away from 18K to align with current preferences.

Additionally, lab-grown diamond manufacturers are increasingly becoming clients. "Being able to cater to both natural and lab-grown diamond markets is a significant advantage," Gürel adds, noting the expected rise in demand for lab-grown diamond jewelry in the coming years.

Technology-Driven Innovation

Chinese manufacturers are leveraging cutting-edge technology to create intricate and precise mount designs. Diyee Jewelry uses advanced CNC processing and steel molds to ensure uniformity and quality in its mounts. Popular items include tennis bracelet mounts, celebrated for their symmetry, precision, and comfortable wear.

Marketing Manager Xie Ziqi highlights, "Our tennis bracelets are a testament to craftsmanship and quality. Their consistent demand showcases the importance of high standards in this industry."

Design Trends in Focus

South Korea is emerging as a hub for innovative mount designs. Echo.Private, a jewelry mount producer based in Iksan, is gaining recognition for its creative tennis bracelet mounts adorned with butterfly motifs. CEO Jang HyeonJu explains that experimenting with designs and improving clasps have boosted sales in the local market and beyond.

Meanwhile, ZhuZhu Bao Jewelry, a Chinese manufacturer, is focusing on single-stone ring mounts to cater to domestic demand while eyeing the Middle Eastern market for expansion. Offering over 10,000 designs, the company also provides bespoke services to meet diverse customer needs.

Challenges and Adaptation

Turkish company Mounting Design continues to deliver high-quality mounts inspired by its rich cultural heritage. General Manager Murat Karagülle notes that long chains were in demand two years ago, but chokers are now more popular. Regularly releasing new designs every six months helps the company stay competitive.

"The jewelry mount industry thrives on innovation and quality craftsmanship," Karagülle says. "By meeting evolving preferences, we ensure consistent growth in this ever-changing market."

The Road Ahead

As the jewelry industry continues to innovate, mounts remain a cornerstone of its artistry. With creative designs, advanced technology, and a commitment to meeting customer needs, mount manufacturers are poised to drive the industry forward.
