Toronto Jeweler Arrested Over Unreturned Jewelry

Amin Hasmani, a 67-year-old Toronto jeweler, was arrested on March 27 for allegedly failing to return jewelry that customers had left at his stores—Amiza Diamond and Inaza Diamond—for repair and appraisal. Between August 2023 and February 2024, customers reportedly found the stores closed when attempting to retrieve their items. Hasmani faces charges including fraud, theft, and possession of property obtained by crime. The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging others who may have been affected to come forward.
