Michael Barabash, a longtime client relations representative for New York City–based jewelry brand Verragio, died on Aug. 9. He was 58.
Prior to joining Verragio, Barabash was an inventory manager for Virtual Diamond Boutique and served as sales manager for Shenoa & Company.
Verragio said in a statement: “Michael was a vital part of the Verragio customer service team, bringing nearly three decades of jewelry industry experience and a passion for his craft like no other. His extensive knowledge and unwavering dedication made him not only a trusted professional but also a source of inspiration to everyone he worked with.
“Michael’s love for his work was evident in everything he did. He had an exceptional talent for brightening anyone’s day, whether through a simple joke, shared memory, or his warm smile…. His presence brought joy and comfort, and his absence leaves a void that cannot be filled.”
“Michael was one of those rare individuals whose passion for the jewelry industry was matched only by his warmth and generosity,” said Barry Verragio, the brand’s founder and president, in a statement. “Michael had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued. He wasn’t just a team member; he was part of our family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
Barabash is survived by his husband, Raymond; his mother; and a sister. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with his funeral expenses.
