This year's Academy Awards was a masterclass in red-carpet elegance with some of the most spectacular jewellery we've seen in a while. There were one-of-a-kind high jewellery creations, inventive ways of styling traditional pieces and some seriously dazzling diamonds. One of our favourite jewellery looks of the night came courtesy of Selena Gomez, who found a Bvlgari showstopper to be the perfect accompaniment to her shimmering blush pink Ralph Lauren gown.
The actress chose to wear the house's 'Shape of Matter' necklace, a design constructed with over 100 pieces, including a 10.16-carat pear-shaped diamond drop, suspended below, which served as the centrepiece.
The necklace is inspired by the fluidity and adaptability of water. Set on platinum, it features wave-shaped modules and round diamonds to represent vapour, with the alteration between pavé and round diamonds is intended to create a wave-like rhythm. In total, the breathtaking necklace features 18 round brilliant-cut diamonds and 228 step-cut diamonds, as well as the jaw-dropping pear-shaped diamond that is suspended below the necklace.
An ideal choice to be teamed with her off-the-shoulder gown, Gomez also added some diamond Bvlgari earrings and multiple rings to add a little extra sparkle to the look.
Later in the night, Gomez changed for the Vanity Fair Oscars party, slipping into a sequin strapless Armani Privé gown, and – of course – a little Bvlgari sparkle to finish it off. The actress wore a high jewellery choker necklace with 16 round diamonds, which she paired with matching earrings and rings.
