As demand for custom jewelry grows, the company is expanding its services to support retailers.

Albuquerque, New Mexico—Rio Grande announced last week that it is expanding its personalization services as demand for custom jewelry grows.
The wholesale supplier has grown its offering of tools, services, and sourcing solutions to better support jewelry retailers.
“As personalization continues to drive consumer purchasing decisions, especially in the bridal and self-purchasing categories, Rio Grande is focused on providing scalable, premium customization solutions that retailers can trust,” Rio Grande President Arien Gessner said.
“We’ve built a framework that combines creativity, efficiency, and reliability, ultimately leveraging the strength of our Richline network while staying close to our roots in U.S.-based manufacturing.”
Rio Grande is a division of Richline Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway. Richline acquired Rio Grande in 2013.
Rio Grande said it can assist jewelers with sourcing melee and matched pairs of both natural and lab-grown gemstones to complete custom design requests.
It also offers custom jewelry manufacturing and made-to-order ring services. Retailers can use bespoke design services, including collaborative design development, prototyping, precision casting, and manufacturing.
For special orders of diamonds and gemstones, retailers have access to direct sourcing through Rio Grande and Richline Group’s domestic and international networks.
Rio Grande also provides custom branding and finishing services, including hot-foil stamping, custom marking stamps, polishing cloths, digital printing, and packaging solutions.
A new addition is its soon-to-launch custom jewelry design tool, a digital platform slated to debut in the fall that lets customers visualize stone, metal, and engraving options for custom-designed jewelry in real time.
