Jewelry Enterprise Management Group (JEM Brands), the new jewelry business accelerator founded by industry veteran Scott Rauch, has acquired the license to produce fine jewelry under the name of famed fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff.
Rauch says that JEM will work with the designer on the distribution, marketing, and creative design of a new Minkoff fine jewelry brand, with manufacturing to be determined.
“We should have something ready to go online by Christmas,” Rauch tells JCK. “We definitely expect to have the full line launched next year.”
JEM will also advise Regal Jewelry, which recently purchased the license to manufacture costume jewelry under the Minkoff name, to “make sure everything is on brand,” Rauch says.
Rauch believes that Minkoff’s high profile will be a key differentiator.
“The industry doesn’t need another jewelry line,” he says. “It needs a powerful voice that speaks to the consumer, and Rebecca does that, through her lifestyle brand, her social media platform, and her book and podcast. She is a true style icon who has 80% unaided awareness. That can make a huge impact in an industry that doesn’t have many well-recognized brands.”
Deconic, a subsidiary of Brooks Brothers, previously held the license to manufacture Minkoff fine jewelry.
