Auction house Phillips has appointed Dianne Batista head of jewels for New York, as well as senior vice president and senior specialist.
In her new roles, Batista will lead Phillips’ New York jewelry team and “be instrumental in shaping our regional strategy, sourcing exceptional property, and strengthening relationships with collectors and connoisseurs,” said Benoît Repellin, Phillips’ worldwide head of jewelry, in a statement.
Batista has more than four decades of luxury and auction house experience. Prior to coming to Phillips, she worked as senior vice president, jewelry and watches, for Hindman; director of fine jewelry for Rego/Wright Auctions; and archives manager for David Webb.
Phillips’ statement said its 2024 jewelry revenue rose by more than 50% over the prior year.
The company held its first jewelry auction in Geneva in 2023. Its next New York City jewelry auction will be on Dec. 12.
