The Survivor Collection, a new capsule line from DiCuore Diamonds, is a testament to resilience and hope. Created by designer Daniela Sokolowski, who is now in remission from breast cancer, the collection reflects her journey and aims to uplift others battling or recovering from cancer.
Sokolowski launched the collection on November 15, exactly six years after her Stage 1 breast cancer diagnosis. Through her jewelry and personal story, she hopes to connect with cancer survivors and their loved ones.
Jewelry With a Heartfelt Mission
Each piece in the Survivor Collection is customizable, allowing clients to choose gemstones and metals that represent their unique survivor story. A charm bracelet from the collection exemplifies the brand’s commitment to personalization.
“All of my work is from the heart, and that’s where my brand name, DiCuore, comes from—it means ‘from within the heart,’” Sokolowski explains.
As part of her mission to support women facing breast cancer, 10% of the profits from the Survivor Collection are donated to related charities. “People with a new diagnosis may feel like their life is over. I want to show them it’s not. They can survive and thrive,” Sokolowski says.
A Journey of Passion and Purpose
Sokolowski’s journey to becoming a jeweler was unconventional. After moving from Romania to the U.S. 15 years ago, she discovered her talent while working for a diamond dealer in New York City’s Diamond District. She founded DiCuore Diamonds in 2022, specializing in bespoke fine jewelry.
Opening her studio in midtown Manhattan, located at 1460 Broadway, was a milestone in her career. “It made me feel like an established jeweler,” she shares.
Her personal story adds a unique dimension to her craft. Sokolowski holds degrees in foreign languages from a Bucharest university and forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York. Fluent in six languages, she prides herself on her ability to listen to clients and help them express their individuality through jewelry.
A Life Rooted in Resilience and Love
Sokolowski’s husband, Steven, a health care provider, has been a constant source of support. The couple married in October 2019, shortly after she completed her cancer treatment, with Sokolowski wearing her favorite color, emerald green, on her special day.
“I’m just a regular girl from Romania who works hard, values education, and creates jewelry with passion,” she says. “I’m no diva, and I don’t claim to reinvent the wheel. I just make meaningful pieces and offer exceptional customer service.”
Her Survivor Collection is more than jewelry—it’s a symbol of strength, hope, and triumph.
