Sriram “Ram” Natarajan, who served as managing director of GIA India for the past five years, has been named GIA’s senior vice president of laboratory operations.
In his new role, which he began earlier this month, Natarajan will be responsible for establishing the direction of GIA’s lab operations, including its diamond and jewelry grading services. He is based at GIA’s world headquarters in Carlsbad, Calif., and reports to GIA president and CEO Pritesh Patel (who also started in his new role in early August).
Spokesperson Stephen Morisseau tells JCK that “Tom Moses continues to lead GIA’s laboratories as executive vice president and chief laboratory and research officer.”
Natarajan joined GIA India in 2017 as vice president of laboratory operations. The organization said it will name a new director of GIA India soon.
