Dubai’s Diamond-Encrusted Tires Cost $600K and Hold a World Record

The world’s most expensive tires come from Dubai, and they even have gold and diamonds inside them that let them set a Guinness World Record.

Tires are one of the most important parts of any car, and depending on the brand and construction, they can be pretty expensive.

But in 2016, a Dubai-based company entered the Guinness World Records for producing the most expensive anywhere in the world.

Dubai-based company Z Tyre unveiled them nearly ten years ago, with gold and diamonds inside them, helping them to achieve an incredible world record.

Why are these the world’s most expensive tires?

The car tires were Z1s, and the company unveiled them at Reifen Essen 2016.

Making them so expensive was the content of them.

Inside them are 24-karat gold and specially chosen diamonds, and they were designed in Dubai.

The tires themselves were decorated in Italy by artisan jewelers.

Craftsmen who helped apply the gold leafing on the then-new presidential palace in Abu Dhabi also did the decoration on the Z1 rubber.

The special set of four sold in 2016 for an incredible $600,000.

This is what ensured they became the world’s most expensive tires.

Few would ever be prepared to pay so much for their rubber.

Amazingly, there are plenty of others available that are nearly as expensive as those made in Dubai.

Other tires that are incredibly expensive

American manufacturer Firestone produces all kinds of rubber, including that for diggers, loaders, and dump trucks.

One is the Firestone 70/70-57 Super Rock Grip, which costs $120,000 per tire.

Four of these are needed per loader that they are used on.

Tires for performance cars can also cost you a lot of money.

The Bugatti Veyron, for example, used Michelin Pilot Sport Pax costing $42,000 per set.

Compared to the cost of the Z1s, that makes them look like a bargain.

The rubber for Formula 1 cars can also cost a heap of dollars.

A fresh set of F1 tires costs $2,700, which equates to $35,000 per car over a total race weekend.

Add in the second car per team, and it is $70,000.

With 20 cars on the grid, that is an astonishing $1.4 million per race.

So it turns out that even circular bands of rubber can be quite pricey!
