Diamonds Do Good (DDG) is stepping up to make a difference, awarding more than $250,000 in grants to support communities in diamond-producing countries like Tanzania, India, and Botswana. But it's not just about the money—these grants are set to empower young people, support education, and drive sustainable change in the natural diamond industry!
Education and Youth Empowerment Take Center Stage
One of DDG's latest initiatives is partnering with the American India Foundation (AIF) to launch the DDG Urban Transition Centers. These centers are designed to help children of migrant workers in India’s diamond-cutting industry get the support they need. Pritesh Patel, DDG board member and Chief Operating Officer at GIA, emphasized the importance of this initiative: "The transition centers represent a commitment to holistic development for these children, ensuring they are not left behind due to migration challenges."
Boosting Small Businesses in Africa and India
DDG isn’t stopping there—they're also teaming up with United People Global to support small business owners in Africa and India. By fostering job creation, promoting economic stability, and enhancing educational opportunities in diamond-producing areas, DDG is helping these communities thrive.
A Commitment to Sustainability and Growth
These grants are part of DDG's ongoing mission to "foster hope, growth, and sustainability" by targeting initiatives that truly make a difference. Founded in 2007, DDG works to uplift diamond-dependent regions through strategic partnerships and impactful grant programs.
Could this be the spark that ignites lasting change in these communities? Stay tuned to see how these initiatives are transforming lives!
