U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Champlain, N.Y. port have made a significant bust, seizing several shipments of counterfeit Tiffany & Co. jewelry valued at approximately $29,990. The jewelry, which appeared to be high-end pieces, was found to be fraudulent after thorough examination by CBP officials.

The seizures, made between December 2024 and January 6, 2025, came after the agency identified the goods as violating Tiffany’s trademark and intellectual property rights. This marks yet another significant win in the fight against counterfeit merchandise, which has been a major issue in global trade.
In 2023, CBP made headlines by seizing over $654 million worth of counterfeit jewelry, making it the second-largest category of goods seized for intellectual property violations that year. Watches and handbags rounded out the top three, with counterfeit watches valued at nearly $407 million.
As the crackdown continues, CBP encourages anyone with information about illegal imports of counterfeit goods to report them, helping to protect consumers and brands alike from the dangers and financial losses caused by counterfeit merchandise.
