Bulgari Polychroma Taormina Rare Gem Debut

The grand presentation featured over 600 creations – including record-breaking pieces crafted with some of the world’s rarest gems – accompanied by a three-act performance choreographed by Sir Wayne McGregor of The Royal Ballet.

The collection, whose name means “many colours,” is a celebration of chromatic brilliance, craftsmanship, and the Maison’s eternal muse – Rome. It includes 250 new designs, spanning both high jewellery and high-end watches, with 60 “millionaire” creations, the highest number ever unveiled by Bvlgari at a single event.

“We think about the themes of our collections two and a half years in advance,” said Laura Burdese, Deputy CEO of Bvlgari. “Colour is at the heart of our DNA as the Roman jeweller of magnificence. Polychroma reflects who we were, who we are, and who we will be. These are creations that bring beauty and joy to the world while also representing timeless investments.”

Among the highlights were extraordinary stones cut in 16 distinct shapes, from cabochon to buff top, each selected to reveal the gem’s full character. Standouts included The Celestial Mosaic necklace, featuring a 131.21-carat spinel from Tajikistan – the world’s fourth-largest of its kind – and the Trombino platinum ring with a 45-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond, a rarity that surfaces only once every few years. The Magnus Emerald necklace showcased a 241.06-carat Colombian emerald, one of the most significant stones ever unearthed from the region.

Creative director Lucia Silvestri sourced these exceptional gems, shaping them into bold yet wearable works of art that reaffirm Bvlgari’s reputation as a master of colour and Roman elegance.

With Polychroma, Bvlgari continues to redefine high jewellery, uniting rare treasures of nature with architectural design and artistic flair – a true testament to its legacy as one of the world’s most influential maisons.
