Bulgari Polychroma Lights World High Jewellery

· Fashion
Section image

Bvlgari reaches new heights with the launch of Polychroma high jewellery. This audacious collection redefines the concept of luxury jewellery with adventurous shapes, outsize proportions, diverse cultural references, and kaleidoscopic colour combinations. Bvlgari offers a vision of contemporary high jewellery freighted with artistic expression in these forward-looking jewels that combine time-honoured craftsmanship with superlative gemstones.

The collection is inspired by the universal language of colour and its ability to elicit a rainbow of emotions. Polychroma is derived from the Greek poly, meaning 'many', and chroma, meaning 'colour'. Rome, the Eternal City, is always in the soul of Bvlgari's creations, and Polychroma achieves the near impossible in capturing the light of both day and night in these unrivalled masterpieces.

Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bvlgari, describes the Polychroma as a celebration of the boldness that has always set Bvlgari apart. Babin adds, 'Polychroma redefines the boundaries of craftsmanship, gemology, and goldsmithing excellence…constantly pushing the limits of what luxury can represent.'

A diverse range of sixty-five gemstones cut into over a dozen shapes brings exciting, vibrant hues to Polychroma. Bvlgari has gone beyond just jewels and created a realm dedicated to the collection's spirit with jewellery, handbags, eyewear and fragrances.

Of the 250 new opulent jewels and watches, sixty are what Bvlgari describes as 'millionaire products', the most significant number the Roman jeweller has ever created in one collection. Five of these have the honour of entering the Gallery of Wonders, the pinnacle of high jewellery excellence.

Two Gallery of Wonder jewels debuted at the New York Met Gala in early May 2025. Anne Hathaway wore the Cosmic Vault necklace (above), which features a 123.35-carat sugar-loaf Sri Lankan royal blue sapphire surrounded by almost 100 carats of diamonds and yet more sapphires that evoke the domes of Rome's skyline against a starry night sky. Hathaway wore it with a crisp white shirt, showing how wearable even the most precious of Bvlgari creations are, thanks to the 200 parts of the necklace that move with the body.

The Magnus Emerald necklace, features a 241.06-carat Colombian emerald of the highest quality and it is one of the most important stones mined in this region and the largest emerald that Bvlgari has ever set. Bvlgari Polychroma High Jewellery 2025. Credit: P.Langer

Priyanka Chopra Jones stepped onto the Met Gala red carpet wearing the show-stopping Magnus Emerald necklace (above), which features a 241.06-carat Colombian emerald of the highest quality and mesmerising vibrancy. The emerald is one of the country's most important mined stones and the largest emerald that Bvlgari has ever set. Despite its majestic proportions, the fluid lines of the sautoir-style long necklace exude a 1970s laid-back attitude, once again challenging the perceptions of how highly valuable gemstones can be worn.

The Bvlgari Celestial Mosaic (above) is an interpretation of the vast 8th century Tree of Life mosaic found on the floors of Jericho's Hisham Palace in Palestine. A 131.21-carat spinel—the fourth largest in the world—sits at the centre of this dazzling reinterpretation of Mughal art rendered in tourmalines, emeralds, onyx, diamonds, and multi-coloured gemstones.

A 45-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond is set in the Essence of Yellow ring (above), in a design that focuses on this rare diamond's intense colour and size. A diamond of these characteristics is a one in eight million occurrence and comes along twice a decade. The diamond was cut into an Asscher emerald shape that radiates the sun's warmth and is set atop the shank, decorated with graphic arch shapes picked out in step-cut diamonds.
