On March 26, Bulgari's CEO, Jean-Christophe Babin, inaugurated the Fondazione Bulgari Foundation in Rome, which aims to build a bright future by leveraging the brand's cultural heritage. Babin, who also chairs the foundation, emphasized Bulgari's long-standing commitment to cultural initiatives and its plans to continue promoting these efforts.
To date, Bulgari has been involved in a variety of projects highlighting cultural heritage. These include the restoration of notable sites like Venice's Scala d'Oro, Rome's Spanish Steps, the mosaic floors of the Baths of Caracalla, the Torlonia Collection of Greek and Roman statues, and the Area Sacra of Largo Argentina. The brand has also partnered with institutions such as the MAXXI Museum, the Whitney Museum, and Milan Design Week to promote contemporary art initiatives. The new foundation aims to further strengthen Bulgari's partnerships with cultural institutions to preserve and promote artistic heritage.
Gender Equality and Education Initiatives
Bulgari has been a supporter of gender and educational equality. Since 2016, the brand has presented the Aurora Award, which honors talent in various fields regardless of gender. With the foundation's establishment, this award will serve as its official platform, amplifying the voices of pioneering women. The foundation will also continue Bulgari's 15-year strategic partnership with Save the Children, supporting efforts to improve opportunities for children globally.
Training and Employment Opportunities in Craftsmanship
The foundation will work to expand existing partnerships and establish new ones, aiming to create more employment and training opportunities in craftsmanship. In 2017, Bulgari launched the Bulgari Jewellery Academy at its factory in Valenza, Italy, to enhance the jewelry-making skills of new employees. In the near future, Bulgari plans to establish La Scuola Bulgari, its first training school for external students. Together with the Bulgari Jewellery Academy, these institutions will play a key role in the foundation’s activities.
The Fondazione Bulgari Foundation reflects the brand's dedication to cultural heritage, gender equality, education, and craftsmanship, aiming to make a meaningful impact on society while celebrating its storied legacy.
