Audemars Piguet has appointed Louis-Gabriel Fichet as its new CEO for North America, marking a leadership shift for the Swiss watchmaker’s most dynamic luxury market. Fichet succeeds Ginny Wright, who led the region from 2021 until June and now heads Orveon Global, a beauty conglomerate.
A former national equestrian for France, Fichet’s career trajectory is anything but ordinary. After a career-ending injury cut short his time with the French Equestrian Federation’s show jumping team, he pivoted from equine osteopathy to luxury hospitality—a path that ultimately led him to the world of fine watches.
Fichet joined Audemars Piguet in 2020 as retail and hospitality director, bringing a refined understanding of customer experience and high-touch service. By 2023, he was promoted to general manager for France and Spain, overseeing regional retail strategy and brand growth.
Now, as he takes the helm in North America, Fichet reports directly to global CEO Ilaria Resta, and his challenge will be to strengthen AP’s position in a fiercely competitive luxury market where collector culture, experiential retail, and brand exclusivity define success.
Known for its mix of art, sport, and craftsmanship, Audemars Piguet appears to see in Fichet a leader who embodies that same multidisciplinary energy—a balance of precision and passion.
His background in elite sports, hospitality, and high luxury could signal a fresh era for AP’s U.S. strategy, one that leans even more into community-building, private events, and the lifestyle of modern watch connoisseurs.
