Dr. Ghassan AIDI, chairman and chief executive officer –
Cham Palaces and Hotels, An International Hotels Management Company with 4 subsidiaries located in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and the USA, oversees all operations, marketing and development of the Cham Brand of luxury hotels on a worldwide basis.
His wealth of extensive international operations experience at both Cham Hotels, and
Royal Regency International Hotels, a DC based company in Washington, DC continues to serve him well in his capacity as president –.
Cham Palaces and Hotels represents 16 luxury properties located in Middle East, excluding 5 under development in Abu Dhabi, Marsa Allam (Egypt), Minsk (Belarus), Malindi (Kenya). Royal Regency International Hotels are located in Egypt, UAE, Lebanon, and Bellarus.
Under Ghassan Aidi’s leadership, Royal Regency Brand plan to grow its worldwide portfolio of luxuriously-appointed contemporary hotels and resorts to 30 properties by 2010, achieving the brand’s vision of becoming a truly global player in the luxury hotel industry.
A 30-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Ghassan AIDI has been elected in Nice France in 2006 as the President of
International Hotels and restaurants Association , (IH&RA ) reelected in 2007 for 2 years .He also serve as Vice President for the Arab Union of Hotels since 1995.
Under Ghassan AIDI leadership, Cham Palaces and Hotels was the first Hotels Company worldwide to sign the Agreement for implementing the “code of conduct” for the protection of Children from Exploitation in Travel & Tourism in 2003.
He is a member of Business Advisory Board of the International Organization for Migration. President of ASTA in Syria as well as the President of the Chaine des Rotisseurs in Syria.
He serves as member of the Board of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for Affiliate members since 2006.
Ghassan Aidi’s accomplished career in Regional hospitality industry as well as on the International level saw him as a key speaker in Local and Mediterranean hospitality conferences.
He was a key speaker in major conferences about Hospitality Industry, from Damascus, Cairo, London, Barcelona, Madrid, Davos, New Delhi, Beijing, Geneva, Paris and Tunisia and lately Cartagena in Columbia with major important issues as Climate Change and Hospitality, Natural disaster and Hospitality, treat of Terrorism acts on Hotels, How a country can become a touristic destination, How to protect Children in Hospitality, Free Migration of Labor, How a country can become a New destination, the new trend in Hospitality for the 21 st century. Classification of Hotels and restaurants, Etc…
Aidi earned his Master degree from the Sorbonne University in France in Management and Business administration, followed by a PhD from the United States on Management Information Systems. Aidi resides between Washington, DC and Geneva, Home of the “new” IH&RA as well as the Middle East. |
